Learned about the effectiveness and requirements of using celebrity endorsers, linking it to the product, innovating in a market dominated by giant and responding to competition.

Showed and gave feedback on the top 10 questions re-posted by students on the facebook link.

For the concept test on Oct. 1, I will target to get 80% of the exam questions from the submissions of students. However, some students might get as much as 3 questions picked from their submissions while others may not even have 1 of their questions selected if the format, choice of question and concept explanation were not 100% consistent with class requirements. Exam starts prompty 6:15 pm Oct. 1. Students who miss the test on this date will be allowed a "challenging" make-up opportunity on a date to be agreed on later.

Started lecture on "Understanding and Listening to Customers". Showed useless Japanese inventions and some local innovations that are no longer here (slide 18). Review the lecture here...

Email your presentation on or before Sep 23, 11:59 pm. Embed it in your blog. Post your link in our Facebook page (this was the same as before). If you already had your old file in slideshare, then just replace it and there is no need to change the url links to your blog or to the facebook page.

There is no other assignment for this week.

If all things go well, our concept exam is on Oct. 1.

The recently concluded marketing forum was assessed.  It was a successful activity.  Learnings were taken home by the attendees, evidently applied even in the classroom discussion. 

 

Some enhancements of the official forum website, http://inceptionmarketingforum.blogspot.com/ were suggested.  To mention a few:

1.       Increase the font size of the texts

2.       Include the inception logo in all related power point presentation

3.       Include the speaker's name in the program schedule

4.       Hyperlink student names using LinkedIn profile

 

The intense of the classroom discussion started after the presentation of the Prudential (Korea) TV commercial, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VaCxlS6Wsos.  The advertisement tackled the reality of life, shown in an emotional story of a father and son.  There was a consensus in the class that the scene has contrast:  the uncertainty- future and the certainty- death.  So, for our loved ones, we might have to consider preparing for a more financially secured future. 

 

As bottom line, like an insurance company, "position self as a problem solver".  Furthermore, like the daughter in the story of the three cows, "see self as a thousand worth of cows". 

 

Assignments / reminders were given by coach:

1.       September 09, Thursday (11:59pm):  Revise the ten questions in the format "Question-Concept-Answer"

-           Send/ Post (a) Email (b) Blog and (c) Facebook

 

2.       September 10, Friday     :  No classes, a regular holiday in observance of the Feast of Ramadan

3.       September 17, Friday:  Concept exam

5.       September 24, Friday:  Individual Oral Presentation of the 20yr plan in class

Inception Marketing Forum: Branding Ideas Into Life: Session 6

Great work last Aug. 27 team v52.

But the work is not over yet. Still to be done:
1. Post the powerpoint presentations of the speakers, event pictures, detailed program (not speaker 1 or 2, video to the website)
2. Send an email to those who registered thanking them for their participation and directing them to the website.
3. Make the video on the blog a bigger size.
4. Promote the event website in your own ways (facebook or linked in and or your own blog).

For ALL v52 students, post in your individual blogs:
1. what you did for the class for the forum
2. what you learned from what you did (for the forum) and what you learned form the speakers
Be specific to get a terrific grade for this activity.

For students who did not contribute significantly to the marketing forum class project, please see me for a special assignment to cover this class requirement that you missed.
